Well, flattery will get you everywhere… until the next episode.
The response to our posting of the first episode of Purgatory, USA has been exceptionally positive. Phrases such as:
“This is absolutely wonderful! “
“Great job!”
“The girls are terrific! I can’t wait until I see the rest.”
“I am completely amazed at the final product! … this needs to be marketed to churches everywhere! The girls did a fantastic job with their roles and their characters are easy to identify with for anyone.”
“That was awesome….I loved it… I really think you’ve touched something here that will grow.”
“Fantastic!”
“Thoroughly enjoyed it.”
“I absolutely LOVED PUSA!!!! Loved, Loved, Loved it and can’t wait for the next episodes!!!”
“This is awesome! Keep it coming!”
As I jokingly said in a congratulatory email to our cast and crew… we can only go down from here! The interest and feedback has been greater than anything I could have imagined. It has been a real blessing. It’s nice to know that all of the work and effort made a difference… that the weird, silly little scenes that floated in my head and onto the page a few months ago actually work. A nice validation, to be sure.
I’m now scrambling to finish writing the next four episodes as well as keep the momentum and interest going by editing together some interviews with Dorothea and Tiffany. Future episodes will show some of the scars associated with shooting this on a micro-budget, but our goal is to praise the Lord with our talents. I’ll let Him take care of how Purgatory, USA is perceived and utilized in its entirety.
In the mean time I’m going to take about 18 seconds to enjoy our minor success before forging on to the next item on the Sonlight Pictures To Do List.
*happy sigh*
*looks at watch*
Okay, that’s enough of that.
