You’d think getting a video onto the internet would be easier than this…
Club God is just under 14 minutes long. In it’s raw, high-def state its almost 4GB in size. Well, squeezing that down to web-ready size and length is problematic.
- God Tube will let you upload a file up to 30 minutes, but it can only be 100MB in size.
- You Tube will let you upload a file up to 1GB in size, but it can’t be longer than 10 minutes.
- Facebook will allow you to upload a file up to 20 minutes in length, but it can be 300MBs.
Ugh. What a pain. So, if I can squeeze it under 300MBs, I can fit the entire thing on Facebook. To put it on You Tube I’ll need to split it into two parts and to get it on God Tube I’ll need a miracle of video compression to retain any sort of the video quality we invested in when we shot it and still get it under 100MBs.
This entire process is a very good learning experience, but it sure feels like a royal pain in the patooty as well.
I hope to have this all worked out soon.
